Dhaka: The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate drives filed 915 cases against motorists for emitting black smoke in different parts of the capital in July.

According to United News of Bangladesh, DMP filed 34 cases in the Ramna zone, 354 in the Motijheel zone, four in the Lalbagh zone, 172 in the Wari zone, 131 in the Tejgaon zone, 36 in the Mirpur zone, 128 in the Uttara zone, and 56 in the Gulshan zone, as stated by DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Niaz Mehedi on Tuesday.

The deputy commissioner emphasized that such drives and legal actions against vehicles emitting black smoke will continue as part of efforts to prevent environmental pollution.
