Dhaka: Arafat Rahman Koko, the youngest son of BNP founder former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, is being remembered on his 57th birth anniversary. Born on August 12, 1969, Koko passed away from a heart attack in Malaysia on January 24, 2015.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Dhaka North City BNP marked the occasion by visiting Koko’s grave at Banani Graveyard, where floral tributes were paid. The event was attended by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. A discussion in his memory was also held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan.

Koko’s involvement with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) from 2002 to 2005 is still remembered. During his tenure, he worked to maintain cricket’s independence from political influence and contributed to the development of the sports sector in Bangladesh. His efforts continue to be appreciated by the country’s sporting community.

Additionally, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Swechhasebak Dal held a prayer and munajat at Banani graveyard. The gathering included Central President SM Jilani, General Secretary and State Minister Rajib Ahsan, Organising Secretary Nazmul Hasan, and leaders and activists from various levels of the organisation.
