Hazaribagh: A battery-powered rickshaw driver died after being electrocuted while charging his vehicle at a garage in the capital’s Hazaribagh area on Thursday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, 55, son of Abdur Rakib from Naogaon district, who had been residing on Maneshwar Road in Hazaribagh.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the tragic incident occurred when Rahman was charging his vehicle at the garage around 2:15 pm. Garage owner Md Arif Mia reported that Rahman accidentally came into contact with an electric wire, resulting in serious injuries.
He was quickly transported to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where an on-duty doctor declared him dead at approximately 3:15 pm. Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, stated that the body was kept at the hospital’s morgue for an autopsy.
