Indian NDC Delegation Engages in Strategic Discussions with Sri Lankan Defence Officials


Colombo: A delegation from the Indian National Defence College (NDC), led by Ms. Anvita Sinha, Joint Secretary and Senior Directing Staff (Civil Services) of the Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS), met with the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), during a courtesy call at his office in Colombo today.



According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the visiting delegation, comprising senior foreign military officers currently on a study tour in Sri Lanka, engaged in cordial discussions with the Deputy Minister during the meeting. The interaction aimed at fostering stronger defence ties and understanding between the two nations.



On a separate occasion, the Indian NDC delegation visited the Ministry of Defence, where they held discussions with the Overlooking Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Additional Secretary (Civil Security and Development), Mrs. Indika Wijegunawardane. These discussions were part of the delegation’s broader agenda to explore collaborative opportunities and enhance bilateral defence cooperation.



The Defence Adviser to the High Commission of India, the Commandant of the National Defence College, Sri Lanka, and the Military Liaison Officer of the Ministry of Defence were also present to facilitate the discussions, highlighting the importance of the visit in strengthening military and strategic ties between India and Sri Lanka.
