Accra: Air Vice Marshal Indika Wickramasinghe has officially taken over as the new Vice Chancellor of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU). He succeeds Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara, who stepped down after completing his term. The transition took effect on 01 September.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the formal ceremony for the assumption of duties was held at the KDU premises in Ratmalana. The event was attended by senior officials from the academic, administrative, and military sectors, marking a significant leadership transition at the university.

Air Vice Marshal Wickramasinghe brings with him a wealth of experience and qualifications, including a USP, MSc in Defence and Strategic Studies, MHRM, BSc in Defence Studies in Aeronautical Engineering, and multiple professional affiliations. His leadership is anticipated to guide KDU in its future endeavors.
