Dhaka: Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad commenced his official duties at Bangabhaban on Tuesday, marking a significant step in his temporary tenure. Upon his arrival at approximately 11:10 am, he was received with full honors by a horse-mounted contingent of the President Guard Regiment (PGR) at Main Gate No. 2, who escorted him to the venue designated for the Guard of Honour.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the ceremonial welcome included a Guard of Honour presented by a smartly turned-out contingent of the PGR. Adding to the ceremonious occasion, a combined military band consisting of members from the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force played a welcome tune to honor the Acting President’s arrival.

Following the Guard of Honour, key officials, including President’s Military Secretary Major General A S M Bahauddin, Public Division Secretary Khan Md Nurul Amin, and Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam, greeted Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad with bouquets at the Octagonal of Bangabhaban, symbolizing the commencement of his official duties.

Subsequently, the Acting President proceeded to his office, where he engaged in exchanges of greetings with senior officials. In a briefing session, the Military Secretary and the Public Division Secretary provided him with essential updates concerning matters related to Bangabhaban, thus officially starting his engagements.

Before concluding his visit to Bangabhaban, Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad conducted an inspection of the Toshakhana at around 1:40 pm, thereby completing the initial phase of his official duties for the day.
