Humla: With the support of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), a football programme has been initiated at the school level in Humla. This effort is part of ANFA’s broader mission to cultivate football skills from a young age across the country.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the initiative in Humla is part of FIFA’s ‘Football for Schools’ programme, coordinated locally by Dhiraj Rokaya. The programme, launched following an online application process by ANFA, selected four schools in Humla for participation.

Balmandir Secondary School at Simkot Rural Municipality and Mount Everest Academy at Adanchuli Rural Municipality received 25 footballs each during a ceremony on Sunday. Coordinator Rokaya confirmed that Himjyoti Secondary School of Sarkegad Rural Municipality would receive footballs today. However, Khirpani Ani School of Namkha Rural Municipality has not yet received any due to its current low enrollment of only five students, putting it at risk of closure.

Coordinator Rokaya mentioned that the football equipment intended for Khirpani Ani School would be redirected to another school within the district in collaboration with ANFA. The schools that have received footballs are required to ensure regular practice sessions for students. Balmandir Secondary School has already selected 40 students for this purpose.
