Bangladesh Halts Visa on Arrival for All Nations Until February 15

Dhaka: The government of Bangladesh has announced the suspension of the ‘Visa on Arrival’ facility for all eligible countries, including Bhutan, from January 15 to February 15, 2026. This decision affects travelers from various nations who previously benefited from obtaining visas upon arrival in Bangladesh.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade has informed the general public about this change. The Embassy of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Thimphu officially communicated the suspension to the Bhutanese Ministry, which then issued a formal notification.

As a result, Bhutanese nationals planning to visit Bangladesh during this period are advised to secure a visa in advance through the Embassy of Bangladesh in Thimphu. The Bhutanese Ministry has urged all travelers to be aware of this change and ensure they make the necessary arrangements ahead of time to prevent any inconvenience.
