Gazipur: A fire gutted a jhut (garment waste) warehouse in the Salna area of Gazipur on Tuesday morning.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the fire broke out at the jhut warehouse around 12:30 pm and quickly spread to the adjoining houses. Hiron Mia, the station officer of Bhogra Modern Fire Service Station, confirmed that four firefighting units responded to the incident. They managed to extinguish the blaze after an hour.

The fire also affected a number of tin-shed houses near the warehouse. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

Hiron Mia stated that the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage will be determined after a thorough investigation.
