Dhaka: Bangladeshi women have been invited to participate in the 2027 Nagoya Women’s Marathon, with international entries opening on August 11 for the event scheduled on March 14, 2027, in Japan. Recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest women-only marathon, the Nagoya Women’s Marathon is set to accommodate 22,000 runners in 2027, an increase of 2,000 from previous years.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the marathon welcomes women of all running levels, offering an opportunity for both first-time marathoners and seasoned athletes aiming to set personal records. Participants will traverse a 42.195-kilometer course with a completion time limit of seven hours. Finishers will receive a crystal tumbler crafted by French luxury brand Baccarat, with its 2027 design unveiled at the Marathon EXPO a day before the race.

The race is designed to be inclusive for non-elite runners, featuring a relatively flat course, ample time, and a start and finish at the Vantelin Dome Nagoya, a covered baseball stadium. Comprehensive facilities including medical support, changing areas, and restrooms will be provided, contributing to a high completion rate of 96.6 percent in the 2026 race.

The marathon is part of a larger race weekend in Nagoya, starting with the Marathon EXPO on Friday. The expo will include events such as the ‘GO RUNWAY’ fashion show and live performances. Concurrently, men can participate in the Nagoya City Marathon, which features a half marathon and an 8.5-kilometer Nagoya RUN event. International entries for the 2027 Nagoya Women’s Marathon opened on August 11.
