Dhaka: The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has approved a proposal to extend the contract period and revise the consultancy agreement for the ongoing National Special Economic Zone (NSEZ) Development (1st Revised) Project. This project is being overseen by the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).

According to United News of Bangladesh, the proposal was submitted by the Prime Minister’s Office and involves the continuation of services under the package titled ‘Selection of Design and Supervision Consultant (Package No. PMC-15-BSMSN-BEZA).’ The consultancy contract value will increase from Tk 83.14 crore to Tk 89.85 crore. Additionally, the contract period has been extended by two years, now concluding on December 31, 2027, rather than the originally planned end date of December 31, 2025.

The consultancy services for the project are being provided by a joint venture that includes Cheil Engineering Co Ltd of Korea, Yooshin Engineering Corporation of Korea, and Engineering and Planning Consultants Ltd of Bangladesh.
