Dhaka: The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has given the green light to a proposal for increasing the cost of constructing a 10-storey administrative building as part of the ‘Further Development of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (2nd Revised)’ project by Tk 7.34 crore. This approval was granted during a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury at the Secretariat.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the committee recommended a contract variation of Tk 7,33,69,389, marking a 19.42 percent hike over the initial contract value. The original contract, identified as Package No. RUET/FDRUETP/W/2020-2021/08 with Tender ID: 575510, was originally set at Tk 37.77 crore. Following this approved variation, the revised contract value will now total Tk 45.11 crore.
Bishwas Trading and Construction, based in Dhaka, is tasked with executing the construction work. The proposal for this financial adjustment was submitted by the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education.
