Colombo: Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) attended the 12th General Deshamanya Denis Perera Memorial Oration at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) on 11 August. The event was held in memory of the late General Deshamanya Denis Perera.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the oration was delivered by Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, who spoke on the theme ‘Our Watch: Building a Future-Ready Navy.’ The gathering included Mrs. Ranjini Perera, Commanders of the Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Air Force, former Service Commanders, senior officers of the Tri-Forces, academic staff, distinguished invitees, and members of the university community.
