Colombo: Director General of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS), Dr. Mahesh Gunasekara, paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), at his office.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, during the meeting, Dr. Gunasekara briefed the Deputy Minister on the ongoing humanitarian initiatives carried out by SLRCS across the country. The discussions focused on disaster response, healthcare support, and community resilience programs.

The Deputy Minister acknowledged the contributions of the SLRCS in providing humanitarian assistance, especially during natural disasters and health emergencies. He expressed the Ministry of Defence’s continued support for collaborative efforts to enhance disaster preparedness and response mechanisms.
