Dhaka: Prime Minister’s Adviser Mahdi Amin on Sunday emphasized the government’s dedication to implementing the July Charter and delivering justice for the killings that occurred during the July mass uprising. Addressing the first conference on the July Revolution, organized by the July Revolutionary Alliance (JRA) at the BIAM Foundation auditorium in the capital, Amin assured attendees of the government’s commitment.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Mahdi Amin acknowledged the emotions and demands of those present, asserting that the current administration is steadfast in its resolve to execute the July Charter and seek justice for the victims of the July massacre. He highlighted the government’s objective to honor the aspirations of the uprising’s martyrs, who envisioned a Bangladesh founded on principles of equality, human dignity, and social justice.

Amin further elaborated on the martyrs’ dream of establishing a truly sovereign Bangladesh where meritocracy prevails and discrimination is eradicated. He urged collective efforts to achieve this vision. He also addressed the plight of those injured during the uprising, noting that many have yet to recover fully. Some have sustained permanent disabilities, while others require ongoing treatment.

He expressed the BNP government’s commitment to supporting the injured and the martyrs’ families with sincerity and responsibility, ensuring they receive necessary long-term assistance. Amin credited Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for spearheading initiatives to foster a discrimination-free, humane, and democratic Bangladesh, aligning with the ideals of the July mass uprising.

Amin acknowledged the challenges stemming from 17 years of authoritarian rule, which he believes cannot be entirely resolved overnight. Nonetheless, he reaffirmed the government’s dedication to constructing a just state that honors the sacrifices of the martyrs and meets the expectations of their families.
