India Aims to Strengthen Business Relations with Bangladesh: Politics to Follow Its Course

Dhaka: Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi emphasized the importance of enhancing business-to-business relations between India and Bangladesh, asserting that while politics will follow its own path, the responsibility lies in delivering what the people deserve.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Trivedi made these remarks during a press briefing at the Secretariat following a meeting with Bangladesh’s Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir. He expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations, urging both nations to focus on collaboration for the benefit of their citizens.

Trivedi described Bangladesh as a vibrant, sovereign, and independent nation, equal to India, and emphasized the need for working together on an equal footing. He highlighted that peace and prosperity are crucial, and it is the responsibility of both countries to ensure these for the younger generation.

The High Commissioner noted that ordinary people prioritize basic necessities and peace in their lives. Citing Mahatma Gandhi, he reminded leaders to consider the impact of their decisions on the poorest segments of society.

Trivedi also underscored the potential for joint-venture business opportunities in Bangladesh, especially in border areas, and highlighted the importance of economic and people-to-people ties. He acknowledged the vital role of the private sector in bridging differences between the two countries, stating that no government can provide everything on its own.

In a recent reception, he expressed gratitude to the business communities of both nations for their efforts in fostering bilateral relations.
