Dhaka: Indian President Droupadi Murmu on Friday extended her congratulations to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his inauguration as the 23rd President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. In a message shared shortly after the oath-taking ceremony at Bangabhaban, President Murmu expressed her eagerness to collaborate with President Mirza Fakhrul to enhance the partnership between the neighboring countries. She conveyed her best wishes for his health, happiness, and the successful execution of his presidential duties, while also expressing hope for the continued progress and prosperity of Bangladesh’s citizens.
According to United News of Bangladesh, President Murmu praised the shared history and cultural ties between India and Bangladesh, which serve as the foundation for their unique relationship. She highlighted the recent expansion of bilateral ties, which now encompass diverse sectors such as energy, technology, connectivity, youth affairs, health, and education. The Indian President expressed confidence in President Mirza Fakhrul’s extensive experience in public life and political leadership, foreseeing a successful tenure for him in serving the people of Bangladesh.
In a similar gesture, Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel sent a congratulatory message to President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, acknowledging his election as the 23rd President of Bangladesh. President Paudel expressed his best wishes for the new President’s success in his responsibilities and reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding friendly ties between the two nations. He emphasized the importance of the deep-rooted people-to-people connections that unite Bangladesh and Nepal.
