Dhaka: The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has filed a complaint with the police against 10 identified leaders and activists of the National Citizen Party (NCP), including its Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary and Chief Organiser for the Northern Region, Sarjis Alam. The accusations include theft, assault, and causing injuries.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the complaint was lodged by Iqbal Hossain Rokon, the joint convener of the district unit JCD, with the Habiganj Sadar Police Station on Thursday night. The complaint also mentions 40 to 50 unidentified individuals, as confirmed by Officer-in-Charge Zahidul Haque. He indicated that the police would proceed with the necessary actions following an investigation into the allegations.

Previously, on Wednesday, Chhatra Shakti district unit Convener Tanmoy Taher Rubel had filed a complaint against JCD leaders and activists at the Kamaichhara Police Camp in Bahubal upazila. This complaint was related to an attack on NCP leaders and activists in Habiganj. Subsequently, the complaint was registered as a regular case at the Sadar Police Station on Thursday night, implicating 11 named and 100 unnamed JCD leaders and activists.

The list of accused in this case includes district JCD President Rajib Ahmed Ringon, Brindaban Govt College unit General Secretary Ashraful Islam Riaz, and other organization leaders such as Asikul Islam Imon, Mozakker Hossain Imon, Shimul, Saimon, Mahfuz, Ishtiaq Sabbir, Nazmul, and Roxy.

The incident leading to these complaints occurred on Tuesday evening when an NCP convoy, carrying Nasiruddin Patwary and Sarjis Alam, was attacked while returning from a rally in Habiganj that marked the July mass uprising. During this attack, a vehicle was vandalized, and at least 15 leaders and activists sustained injuries.
