Dhaka: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are expected to occur at several locations throughout Bangladesh within the next 24 hours starting from 9am Monday, as reported by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

According to United News of Bangladesh, a bulletin from the Met Office indicates that rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in the Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Additionally, a few areas in the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions may also experience rainfall. The bulletin also suggests the possibility of moderately heavy to heavy rainfall at various locations across the country.

In the past 24 hours leading up to 6am Monday, Kutubdia in the Chattogram division recorded the highest rainfall, measuring 58mm. The bulletin further noted that both day and night temperatures might experience a slight drop throughout the country.

The axis of the monsoon trough is reported to extend through regions including Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, stretching over the low-pressure area in Assam and across the southern part of Bangladesh. The monsoon remains fairly active over Bangladesh and is strong over the North Bay, as per the bulletin’s findings.
