Dhaka: A madrasa student tragically lost his life after being electrocuted while trying to fix an electric kettle at his father’s tea stall in Kalia upazila of Narail on Monday morning.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased was identified as Mohammad Tanvir, 15, son of Md Azgar Sheikh of Benda village in the upazila. The unfortunate incident took place around 8:00 am at a tea stall located in Benda village under Kalia municipality.

Local residents reported that Tanvir, an eighth-grade student, had gone to assist his father at the tea stall. While preparing tea using an electric kettle, the appliance developed a fault. In an attempt to repair it, Tanvir was electrocuted.

Despite the immediate efforts of locals who rushed him to Kalia Upazila Health Complex, the on-duty doctor declared Tanvir dead upon arrival. Md Idris Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalia Police Station, confirmed that necessary legal procedures were underway.
