Colombo: In line with the National Integrity Initiative, the Internal Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Defence conducted an awareness programme for Ministry staff today at the Ministry of Defence premises.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the programme was led by Mrs. H.H.N.P. Hewarathna, Senior Assistant Secretary (Parliament Affairs and Policy) and Head of the Internal Affairs Unit. The main objective was to enhance awareness of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct within the public service.

During the session, participants were briefed on the importance of promoting professionalism, transparency, and individual responsibility while upholding the principles of good governance. The programme also highlighted the role of public officers in fostering an efficient, accountable, and citizen-centric public service.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Defence, senior officers of the Tri-Forces, and Ministry staff attended the awareness programme.
