Colombo: The Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit, led by Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera, has facilitated the donation of essential medical equipment to state hospitals in Anuradhapura and Marawila. This effort was organized to support and improve healthcare services in these regions.
According to Ministry of Defence, bedside lockers were donated to the Regional Thalassemia Centre at the Teaching Hospital in Anuradhapura on December 14. Additionally, ICU beds were delivered to the Base Hospital in Marawila on December 12, aimed at bolstering patient care facilities in these hospitals.
Representatives from the Ministry of Defence formally handed over the equipment to the hospital authorities in brief ceremonies, symbolizing the effective partnership between the defence and health sectors. This initiative underscores the Ministry of Defence’s dedication, via the Seva Vanitha Unit, to aiding public health facilities and enhancing healthcare delivery through such timely contributions.
