Kushtia: Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumder on Wednesday emphasized that the country’s future will depend on people voting ‘Yes’ in the upcoming referendum, highlighting the crucial role of public participation in shaping the nation’s direction. Speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting organized at the Collectorate in Kushtia, Majumder urged citizens to actively participate and vote ‘Yes’ to influence the country’s trajectory.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Majumder addressed the significance of the referendum, stating, “You are the owners of the country. It depends on you who will run the country.” He assured voters that their rights would be protected, with election officials, including the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, ensuring that the voting process remains unobstructed. The adviser encouraged citizens to exercise their right to vote for the candidate of their choice without any interference.

Majumder also paid tribute to those who sacrificed during the July Upris
ing, underscoring their contributions. He articulated the vision of running the country in a novel manner, inspired by the July warriors. “In that spirit, the July National Charter 2025 has been formulated by coordinating proposals from various reform commissions with the aim of changing the existing political culture. All political parties have signed this charter,” he noted.

The meeting was presided over by Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Md Iqbal Hossain and included addresses from District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Jasim Uddin, District Information Officer, and District Election Officer, who all contributed to the discussion on the importance of the referendum.
