Dhaka: Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad and Shariatpur-3 MP Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu emphasized that not a single penny of public money would be allowed to go to waste, asserting that no compromise would be made over the quality of development work as he inspected several roads in Dhankati Union.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Apu stated that roads should be constructed to a standard that would ensure they do not need major repairs for the next 50 years. He declared, “I have come to work, not to make money. No irregularities or substandard work using public funds will be tolerated. Every project must be durable and of high quality.”
The whip cautioned that contractors or others involved in development projects would face action if any irregularities were discovered. He also instructed the engineers and contractors involved to prioritize quality in all construction work.
Apu highlighted that the government’s development activities are designed to ensure long-term benefits for the population, stressing that each project must maintain transparency, accountability, and quality. Present during the inspection were District LGED Executive Engineer SM Rafeul Islam, Upazila Engineer Abu Naim Nabil, local public representatives, political leaders, and individuals from various sectors of society.
