Kathmandu: The Federalism Strengthening and National Concern Committee of the National Assembly (NA) has instructed the Home Ministry to seek a long-term resolution to the border dispute concerning Humla and Bajura districts. A meeting of the committee, chaired by Jayanti Devi Rai, emphasized the necessity of a sustainable solution through intensive discussions among local people, administration, and concerned stakeholders.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha shared insights during the meeting, indicating that the border dispute in the Lampata Chyachaur area (Ranisain) along the Humla and Bajura districts has returned to a normal state. Inspector General of Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, also updated the committee members on the security situation in the disputed area.

Karki highlighted that preparations are ongoing to establish a temporary joint security base, with Nepal Police expediting processes to take action against the perpetrators. National Assembly Members Narayan Dutta Mishra, Roshani Meche, Shree Krishna Prasad Adhikari, Sonam Galzen Sherpa, Kiran Babu Shrestha, and Dharmendra Paswan urged the government to seek a speedy and sustainable solution to the border dispute.

The locals of Himali Rural Municipality-3 in Bajura and Kharpunath Rural Municipality-2 in Humla district clashed, resulting in some injuries over an issue related to building a temporary police post at the Lampata area in Himali Rural Municipality.
