Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday pledged full support to foreign investors looking to invest in Bangladesh, emphasizing the country’s conducive investment climate. This assurance came during a meeting with a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) at the Bangladesh Secretariat’s Cabinet Division meeting room.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the eight-member AmCham delegation, led by its President and Mastercard Vice President Syed Mohammad Kamal, engaged in discussions with the Prime Minister. The representatives conveyed that AmCham’s newly formed committee, which assumed responsibilities about two months ago, is actively working to entice more US investments into Bangladesh while also aiming to strengthen the commercial relationship between the two nations.
The meeting was also attended by Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Prime Minister’s Adviser on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology Rehan Asif Asad, and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury. These officials underscored the government’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for international investors.
