Colombo: At the invitation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, a meeting was held this morning at the Presidential Secretariat between the President and representatives of the School Development Officers’ Association. The discussion focused on the professional and social challenges faced by the association’s members.

According to News.LK, the representatives clarified that the responsibility for the current issues does not lie with either the current government or themselves. The President engaged in a lengthy discussion on these matters, emphasizing the government’s commitment to protecting the professional pride and dignity of those involved.

The President expressed the government’s goal to integrate degree-holding professionals with teaching experience into the teaching service. He invited them to participate in the examination as per the Sri Lanka Teachers Service Minute. The meeting was also attended by several key officials, including Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Senior Additional Secretary to the President Kapila Janaka Bandara, Director General of Public Relations at the Presidential Secretariat Dharmasiri Gamage, and senior officials from the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, including Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa.
