Colombo: Prima Group Sri Lanka has donated a stock of Prima dry rations, valued at over Rs. 300 million, to the Government of Sri Lanka for distribution among people affected by floods, landslides, and other disasters across the island.
According to Ministry of Defence, the symbolic acceptance of this significant donation took place at the Ministry of Defence premises, where the Secretary of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retired), received the goods. Representing the Prima Group, Mr. Sajith Gunaratne, General Manager of Ceylon Agro Industries Limited, and Mr. Sanjeeva Perera, General Manager of Ceylon Grain Elevators, officially handed over the stock of dry rations.
The support from the private sector for the government’s efforts to deliver relief to the affected public highlights the cooperation between the state and private sectors in disaster management initiatives.
