Renovated Ward No. 3 at Colombo North Teaching Hospital Inaugurated


Colombo: The renovated Ward No. 3 of the Colombo North Teaching Hospital was ceremonially inaugurated today by Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera, President of the Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU). The event marked a significant milestone in enhancing the healthcare facilities of the hospital.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, following the inauguration ceremony, the newly renovated ward was officially handed over to Dr. Madhawike Dayaratne, Consultant ENT Surgeon of the hospital. The renovation project was undertaken by the Sri Lanka Navy under the guidance of the Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit, as part of its ongoing community-oriented welfare initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare facilities and improving patient care services.

The project received funding from T. Akila Malith Silva, Chairman and Managing Director of Diesel and Hydraulic Engineers (Pvt) Ltd., whose contribution was crucial to the successful completion of the renovation. The upgraded ward is expected to provi
de improved comfort and better facilities for both patients and healthcare staff of the hospital.
