Sylhet: BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) in Sylhet on Wednesday night. He later performed Nafl prayers at 9:05pm, as stated by BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan. At 9:30pm, Tarique Rahman also visited the grave of late General (retired) M. A. G. Osmani, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Bangladesh Army.
According to United News of Bangladesh, earlier in the evening, the BNP chairman, along with his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman, departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Sylhet via a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at around 7:20pm. They arrived at Osmani International Airport, Sylhet, at approximately 8:04pm, marking the formal commencement of his party’s campaign for the 13th national parliamentary election. The campaign is set to feature seven rallies on Thursday.
Sayrul Kabir Khan mentioned that Tarique will start his campaign from Sylhet, a place renowned as the land of saints, and will address seven public rallies across six districts. During these rallies, the BNP chairman is expected to present his party’s election pledges, political priorities, and plans to restore democracy, ensure good governance, and tackle everyday issues faced by the people.
Party leaders and activists have finalized preparations to ensure the smooth execution of the rallies and other electioneering activities.
