Colombo: The Ambassador of the Republic of Trkiye, His Excellency Semih Ltf Turgut, paid a courtesy call on the Acting Minister of Defence of Sri Lanka, Major General Aruna Jayasekera (Retd), at his office in Colombo.

According to Ministry of Defence, during the meeting, the Acting Minister extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Turgut. The two dignitaries engaged in a cordial discussion, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Trkiye.

Both sides emphasized the mutual interest in enhancing cooperation in key areas such as defence collaboration, training opportunities, and maritime security. Ambassador Turgut reiterated Trkiye’s commitment to further fostering the longstanding and friendly relations between the two nations.

Also in attendance was the Defence Attaché of the Embassy of Trkiye in Colombo.
