Horana: Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that the unity witnessed during a Perahera is essential for building a transformative nation and it is not an isolated effort. Prime Minister stated this while attending the inaugural ceremony of the Raigampura Navam Maha Perahera Street parade at the Horana Raja Maha Viharaya.

A Perahera, she noted, embodies values in religious and aesthetic aspects, fostering a collective sense of belonging to heritage. She expressed that the Perahera is a cultural event promoting unity and collaboration, which the nation needs over individual efforts.
