Magura: A vegetable trader was killed in a road accident on the Magura-Jhenaidah highway in Magura town early Friday. The deceased was identified as Md Mohiuddin, 45, of Uttar Narayanpur village in Sadar upazila.
According to United News of Bangladesh, police and local sources reported that Mohiuddin went to Faridpur to sell vegetables. After completing his business, he was returning home in his ‘nosimon’, a three-wheeled motorised vehicle. A covered van coming from behind hit his vehicle in front of the District Police Lines shortly after 3:30am. The impact of the collision threw Mohiuddin onto the road, where the covered van ran over him, resulting in his immediate death.
Upon receiving the information, police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Magura 250-bed General Hospital for an autopsy, as stated by Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdullah Al Amin. Police are currently working to trace the vehicle involved in the accident and are planning to take legal action against its driver.
