Dhaka: Chinese President Xi Jinping has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his inauguration as the President of Bangladesh.

According to United News of Bangladesh, in a congratulatory message sent to Mirza Fakhrul, Xi highlighted the long-standing friendship between China and Bangladesh. He noted that over the past 51 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, both nations have consistently respected and treated each other as equals, supporting one another on issues involving their core interests and major concerns, while pursuing their respective paths of modernization together.

Xi emphasized that the China-Bangladesh bilateral relationship has withstood the test of changing international circumstances. He expressed his readiness to collaborate with the Bangladesh President to continue the traditional friendship, strengthen strategic communications, enhance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and expand cooperation exchanges in all sectors.

Xi expressed hope that the China-Bangladesh community with a shared future in the new era will grow deeper and produce tangible outcomes to bring more benefits to the people of both nations.
