Dhaka: A 19-year-old man died after being electrocuted at a shop in the Chawkbazar area of Dhaka on Wednesday evening.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased was identified as Habibullah, son of Shamsul Haque from Kokail village in Mymensingh’s Phulpur upazila. He had been residing in the Soarighat area. Habibullah came in contact with a live electric wire around 7:00pm while working on a fan, leaving him seriously injured.

He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in an unconscious state, where the attending physician pronounced him dead. Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said the body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
