Dhaka: Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Sunday raised the retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for August by Tk 70, setting the price of a 12kg cylinder at Tk 1,598, up from Tk 1,528.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the revised price will come into effect from Sunday evening, as announced by the energy regulator. This adjustment reflects BERC’s monthly revision process, which takes into account fluctuations in international benchmark prices and other applicable costs.

In addition to the increase in the price of household LPG, BERC also announced a rise in the price of auto gas, which is LPG used in vehicles. The new rate is set at Tk 73.67 per litre, up from Tk 70.40 per litre. This marks an effort by the commission to align domestic prices with ongoing changes in the global energy market.
