8th Indo-Sri Lanka Defence Dialogue Focuses on Maritime Security and Strategic Engagement


Colombo: The 8th Indo-Sri Lanka Defence Dialogue was conducted at the Defence Headquarters Complex in Sri Jayawardanapura, Kotte. The event witnessed the participation of the Sri Lankan delegation led by Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) and the Indian delegation led by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.



According to Ministry of Defence, the dialogue concentrated on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation between the two nations. Key topics included strengthening maritime security and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in training and strategic engagement. Senior officials from both countries were present, underscoring the enduring defence partnership between Sri Lanka and India.



During the visit, the Indian Defence Secretary also held meetings with Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) and Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), further solidifying the cooperation between the two nations.
