Colombo: Sri Lanka’s newly appointed High Commissioner to India, Ms. Maheshika Kolonne, paid a courtesy call on Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Ministry of Defence today.

According to Ministry of Defence, Defence Secretary Thuyacontha warmly welcomed Ms. Kolonne and extended his best wishes for her diplomatic tenure in New Delhi. This meeting marks an important step in strengthening the diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and India.

Ms. Kolonne, before assuming her new role, served as the Additional Secretary for Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her experience in multilateral affairs is expected to play a significant role in her new responsibilities in India.
