Sri Lanka and Australia to Convene Senior Officials Talks and Strategic Maritime Dialogue in Canberra


Canberra: Sri Lanka and Australia are set to conduct the 05th Round of Senior Officials Talks and the 03rd Strategic Maritime Dialogue from March 25th to 26th, 2025. These discussions will take place at Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Canberra.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Sri Lanka, the meetings will be jointly led by Ms. Yasoja Gunasekera, Additional Secretary/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka, and Ms. Sarah Storey, First Assistant Secretary, South and Central Asia Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia.

The dialogues will evaluate the bilateral, regional, and multilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Australia, focusing on enhancing collaboration in vital areas such as political engagement, economic partnership, maritime cooperation, development partnership, defence, education, tourism, and people-to-people connections. Additionally, both parties will discuss developments of mutual interest.
