Melbourne: The Consul General-designate of Sri Lanka to South Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria, Pradeepa Saram, officially presented her Commission of Appointment to Timothy Kane, the State Director of the Victoria State Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT-VSO), on March 31, 2025. Kane extended a warm welcome to Saram upon her arrival in Melbourne and expressed his best wishes for her new role.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Sri Lanka, the meeting centered around strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as trade, investment, tourism, sport, and education, while also fostering enduring people-to-people connections. Consul General Saram highlighted the vibrant Sri Lankan community residing in Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania, and praised their significant contributions to enhancing relations between the two nations.
