Showers and Increasing Winds Expected Off Sri Lanka’s Coast


Colombo: Few showers are expected in the sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Matara via Galle, alongside increasing wind conditions.

According to News.LK, winds in these regions will predominantly be westerly to south-westerly, with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph. Notably, wind speeds could escalate to 50-55 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

In addition, wind speeds might rise to 45-50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw to Mannar via Puttalam. The state of the sea will be rough at times from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota, and fairly rough from Chilaw to Mannar via Puttalam.
