Colombo: The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) SHAURYA, carrying humanitarian aid for those affected by Cyclone Ditwah, arrived in Sri Lanka on 15 Dec 25. The vessel was received by the Sri Lanka Navy and the Coast Guard at the Colombo Port, following naval traditions.
According to Ministry of Defence, the handover of humanitarian aid was organized by the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka. The event was attended by the Deputy High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, the Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Hon. Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku, the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jagath Kumara, and the Commanding Officer of ICGS SHAURYA, Deputy Inspector General Arun Singh, along with other officials.
The Commander Western Naval Area and the Commanding Officer of ICGS SHAURYA also engaged in a discussion at the Western Naval Command Headquarters, which concluded with an exchange of mementoes.
