Male: Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, is set to depart for the Maldives on Tuesday to attend the 21st Asia Media Summit. The event, which began today at Villa Nautica, will continue until May 14 and is expected to gather policymakers, media owners, media professionals, and other delegates from various Asian nations.
According to News.LK, the summit will also host representatives from the Maldivian government, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh, the Secretary General of BIMSTEC, the Secretary General of SAARC, the State Secretary for Social Communication of Timor-Leste, and numerous other senior figures in the media and communication sectors across Asia.
Dr. Jayatissa is scheduled to deliver the keynote address during the fourth session of the summit. His address will focus on crucial topics such as media policy, public information dissemination, media professionalism, and the responsibility of communicators in serving the public interest.
