Baghdad: On Thursday, 21 May 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein, conducted an inspection tour of a number of departments and divisions within the Ministry as part of his field follow-up on the workflow, the needs of employees, and mechanisms for improving institutional performance.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the tour included the Department of Europe, the Department of Asia, the Department of Neighboring Countries, and the Arab Department, in addition to the Political Follow-up and Women’s Affairs Sections at the Ministry. During the visit, the Minister met with heads of departments and sections, as well as a number of employees, and reviewed the nature of the work and responsibilities undertaken by these departments, along with the level of progress achieved in diplomatic and administrative files.
During the meetings, H.E. Mr. Fuad Hussein expressed his thanks and appreciation to the employees for their congratulatory sentiments on the occasi
on of the renewal of confidence in him as Minister of Foreign Affairs. He also praised the significant efforts made by the Ministry’s staff in serving Iraqi foreign policy and strengthening Iraq’s regional and international presence.
H.E. emphasized the importance of continuing to work in a spirit of teamwork and enhancing the level of professional and diplomatic performance in line with the aspirations and objectives of the Iraqi government in strengthening Iraq’s foreign relations and serving its supreme national interests.
In this context, H.E. the Minister stressed the need to intensify efforts, develop institutional working mechanisms, and ensure keeping pace with political and diplomatic developments at both the regional and international levels, in a manner that contributes to strengthening the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and elevating its performance across various files.
