Dhaka: Two unidentified women were found dead near the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in the capital on Monday morning. The women, both aged over 50, were discovered unconscious behind the hospital’s One Stop Emergency Centre (OSEC) at approximately 10:00 am. Despite being promptly taken to the hospital’s emergency department, the attending physician declared both women dead upon arrival.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Md Ayub Ali, the ward master of the emergency department, reported that hospital authorities were alerted to the presence of the two unconscious women lying near the emergency unit around 10:00 am. “They were brought to the Emergency Department where the duty doctor pronounced them dead,” Ali said.
Inspector Md Faruk, who is in charge of the DMCH Police camp, confirmed that the bodies are currently being held at the hospital morgue. In an effort to identify the deceased, the Crime Scene Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been called in to assist with the investigation.
