Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group Convenes First Meeting


Dhaka: The first meeting of the Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group of the 13th Parliament was held at the Jatiya Sangsad on Tuesday, chaired by Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, MP. The meeting highlighted the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and China and reviewed China’s significance in the current geopolitical context.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the group discussed strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations. They emphasized the importance of exchanging bilateral visits by parliamentary delegations and increasing investment to help reduce the trade deficit between Bangladesh and China.



The meeting was attended by several members, including BNP lawmakers Md. Shohidul Islam, Md. Hasan Rajib Prodhan, Jahrat Adib Chowdhury, and Mahmuda Habiba, as well as Jamaat lawmakers Muhammad Nazibur Rahman and Mohammad Moslehuddin Farid, and NCP lawmaker Md. Abul Hasnat. Senior officials from the Parliament Secretariat and the Foreign Affairs Ministry were also present, as stated in a release.
