Habiganj JCD President Among 11 Granted Bail in NCP Convoy Attack Case

Dhaka: A Habiganj court granted bail to 11 leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), including its district unit President Rajib Ahmed Ringon, in connection with an alleged attack on the National Citizen Party (NCP) convoy.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the bail was granted by Habiganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Abdul Mannan on Sunday. The court set bonds of Tk 10,000 each for the accused, who had surrendered before the court earlier that morning.

The case was filed following an incident on July 28 when the motorcade of NCP leaders was reportedly attacked, resulting in injuries to 15 leaders and activists. Among those injured was Sarjis Alam, the Chief Organiser for the Northern Region.

The case was lodged by Tanmoy Taher Rubel, the convener of the district unit of Jubo Shakti, at Sadar Police Station.
