Dhaka: A bomb exploded on Barishal Chief Judicial Magistrate Court premises on Wednesday morning, triggering panic among judges, lawyers, and court officials. The explosion occurred around 10:30 am inside the main entrance of the 10-storey court building, according to witnesses.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the blast caused people inside the court premises to panic and run for safety. Kamrul Islam, the administrative officer of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, stated that senior police officials visited the scene following the incident. ‘We are helping police identify those responsible for the explosion by providing CCTV footage,’ he said.
Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Al Mamun Islam reported that members of the bomb disposal unit are working at the scene. Samples from the exploded device have been collected for examination. Additional police personnel have been deployed around the court premises to ensure security.
