Dhaka: Reiterating his commitment to safeguarding the country’s interests, newly appointed State Minister Humaiun Kobir on Friday night said that there is no country in the world with which he cannot speak ‘eye-to-eye’ if he has the support of the people.
According to United News of Bangladesh, Kobir, who previously served as an Adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman before and after the formation of the government, said the new assignment reflects the Prime Minister’s confidence in him. He expressed his pride in this new opportunity to work for the country and committed to performing his responsibilities with sincerity and commitment.
Kobir emphasized that the position carries executive responsibilities, and he would fulfil his role with commitment, regardless of the portfolio assigned to him. He added that wherever he is placed, it is a great opportunity to work for the government.
He is expected to be appointed State Minister for Foreign Affairs, even as State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam continues in her current role.
