Colombo:Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) and Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) attended a reception celebrating the 103rd Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye. The event took place on 29 October at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo.

According to Ministry of Defence – Sri Lanka, the two dignitaries were welcomed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Semih Lütfü Turgut.

The reception was graced by the presence of the Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Hon. Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, who attended as the Chief Guest. Additionally, Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, Members of Parliament, and senior government officials were in attendance.
